SOME GOOD NEWS BLOWIN'
IN THE WIND!

"Dandelions are 'summer mums,' and they're good news!  They're a reminder to us of the robust nature of God's grace . . . of the durability of God's capacity to turn things upside down and surprise us . . . of resurrection, if you will.  Dandelions are a symbol of the tenacity of the hope God has for us all.  They're a symbol of the triumph of abundant  life over death.  The fact that so many regard them as noxious weeds makes dandelions all the better as a symbol, for Easter is about the triumph of the 'despised and rejected' . . . rejected people, rejected agendas, rejected aspirations.  These Flowers of the Resurrection point to that hope."  ~ Snark

"Silence is the first language of God;  all else is a poor translation."
                                                                                                                     - St. John of the Cross

The setting for this example of good news is . . . often but not always . . . in a "religious" setting.  And, yes, we DO encourage you to send us instances of good news occurring in other settings.  But if you read on, I think you'll see what is truly good news in a new movement called One Wednesday

For those turned off by ego-trips, doctrines, posturing, noisy chatter, and the sometimes confusing/empty wordiness of more traditional gatherings, this may be especially intriguing.  It features 20 - 30 minutes of silence in which you can practice contemplation/meditation (choose whatever word you like.)  Those who self-identify as "spiritual but not religious" may find this particularly attractive, but so will a great many others.

It's for everyone . . . without exception:  no matter your  race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, level of income.  In fact, its purpose is to create a single, specific time in which people around the world can gather for the sole purpose (soul purpose?) of experiencing how we are in union with one another, how we are all brothers and sisters, and how we are, in Truth, one.  Anyone whose heart yearns for such a purpose are welcome and may experience it embodied in the gathering itself.

The gathering takes place on the First Wednesday of each month, at 7 p.m. local time and at a rapidly growing number of locations.  We gather in silence, without any leader other than our hearts.  There are a number of locations where this is already happening, and at some of them, there will be a labyrinth you can walk if you choose.

For locations and more information, go to the OneWednesday website by clicking here.
